Students who show acumen in specific content areas are selected to participate in the gifted/honors program. Sue Slocum, a veteran educator with an educational experience that extends through four decades, leads groups of students on a series of academic explorations in which they can dive deep into subject matter that impacts the community and the world.

Students in high school can challenge themselves by opting to take honors classes that are more challenging by going beyond the traditional curriculum. Students work collaboratively on meaningful and in-depth projects that allow them to truly understand the breadth of the subject they are studying.

Six gifted/honors students have already won awards for their artistic creations and their creative writing.
